Billing and Payments

Upon scheduling your appointment with CardioNow, you were invited to sign up for the AthenaPatient. It is a free app that allows you to use your mobile device to: access your personal health information, securely message your care team at CardioNow, view your upcoming appointments, review your test results, make a payment on an existing balance, and so much more. You will also receive text messages such as reminders of upcoming appointments, messages from the doctor, and current statement availability available for your viewing.

CardioNow partners with Superscript, a billing technology company, to help manage patient payments, in addition to the Athena Patient Portal you might be familiar with. If you have an outstanding balance from a past appointment, you may receive a reminder by text and email on Tuesday mornings. This is expected and is not spam — it comes on behalf of CardioNow.

Click the link in the text or email to pay securely by credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. You can also pay through the Athena Patient Portal or via a mailed paper statement. You make the choice of which payment method works best for you. All three methods stay in sync, so you will never be double-charged.

If you have an unpaid balance, you may receive a reminder from Superscript every other Tuesday for up to five rounds. Once your balance is paid in full, reminders stop automatically. You will also receive notification from the Athena Patient Portal when your statement is ready or if you have opted out of electronic reminders, a paper statement will be mailed to you.
